I wish I could blame my colorful style on Kate Spade. (May her memory be a blessing.) As long as I can remember, I have been drawn to bright splashy things- from jewelry to decor, subtlety has never been my strong suit.
When I was first introduced to the world of designer handbags, I was never drawn to boring Vuitton and staid Coach, no, Kate Spade immediately had my heart- splashy colors, irreverent designs, humor, she had it all. As I decided I wanted to launch my own lines of digital supplies, I wanted to do things different than everyone else- color, shape, mid-century design and humor are always my guides ...throw in a little political activism and you've got Snark Heart. Snark Heart launched February 29, 2020- mere moments before the world came crashing down under the weight of Covid19. That day I made a pendant that said "My cat hates Trump, too" and posted on Facebook. The next morning I woke up to 1800 likes and comments and I realized there was a place for me and my views on the world. Over the next three years, I have grown, changed and added new equipment to my shop- namely LASERS! I continue on with my activist designs and jewelry, just a little more easily digestible to the public. I am a proud resident of Portland Oregon, I am the mom to three adult children and one petulant dog. Equity for all and reproductive rights are two of the most important things to me. (Oh, and, swearing is one of the best damn things about being an adult.) I am always open to design suggestions and collaborations, feel free to reach out to me to explore options! EDUCATION
